Dan has been an active musician since his early childhood. While in high school, Dan attended the National Music Camp in Interlochen, Michigan where he sat first chair baritone horn. College studies took him from his parents’ home in Cleveland, Ohio to Rice University in Houston, Texas where he earned bachelors and masters degrees in mechanical engineering.
Dan remained an active musician throughout his engineering career in the aerospace and commercial vehicle industries. He has performed with the Oregon Symphony and has been a featured soloist with the Oregon Symphonic Band and the Lake Oswego Millennium Concert Band. Dan also has extensive experience playing lead trombone in jazz big bands as well as playing both euphonium and trombone in small combos and classical ensembles. Dan has retired from engineering and relocated from Chicago back to Portland.
